Oscar Awards: Who will win Avatar or The Hurt Locker?

Last Year 81st Academy Award went to Slumdog Milliner. Now all are waiting for 82nd best picture award at Oscars. The Oscar Awards 2010 will be announced on Sunday. This time 10 movies are competing for the best picture category rather than five like every year.

According to the movie experts the competition for this year is in between two blockbuster movies. One is James Cameron biggest movie ‘Avatar’ and next one is ‘The Hurt Locker’ which was directed by James Cameron ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow.

The Hurt Locker won six BAFTA awards which includes best picture and also best actor. Hurt Locker blows away Avatar in BAFTA awards, Avatar only got two in that British Awards. But Avatar got $2.5 billions since release from the film and it become the biggest grossing movie for ever by beating James Cameron romantic movie ‘Titanic.’

Avatar getting toughest competition from lower budget film The Hurt Locker, which was based on Iraq blasts. It grossed only $12.5 million in the theaters. But the indication from studio hinted that Avatar may be the best movie for this year.

After the BAFTA awards all thought that The Hurt Locker has a chance to win the Oscar, but The Hurt Locker producer sent an e-mail to Academy members to vote for his film. This controversy really decreases the chances of winning Oscar for The Hurt Locker. Any way the competition is between Ex-Couple.
