‘The Hurt Locker’ upsets Avatar at Oscars

Once again “The Hurt Locker” beats Avatar. Last time it’s in BAFTA this time at Oscar’s biggest movie festival all over the world. On Sunday night, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 82nd Academy awards for the year 2009.

The Hurt Locker a movie based on Iraq bomb blast topped the Oscars with six awards that includes best picture and best director. For the first time in 82 Academy awards, a woman (Kathryn Bigelow) has won the award for best director.

Best Adapted Screenplay: Goeffrey Fletcher, for “Precious: Based on The Novel ‘Push’ By Sapphire”

Best Art Direction: “Avatar”
