Alice in Wonderland running with massive collections

It’s only three days for Alice in Wonderland in theaters, but it took over the box office reports for this week. Alice in Wonderland which was presented by Walt Disney Pictures earned an estimated collection of $116.13 million domestically and $94 million from overseas for only three days, totally it earns $210.3 million worldwide.

It was released in 3,728 theaters and it became the sixth-biggest opening weekend of all time. It also broke the record of ’300′ which earns $70.9 million in the month of March made in 2007. Alice in Wonderland was directed by Tim Burton which stars Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway.

It also became the biggest opening ever for Tim Burton; his previous was Planet of the Apes’ with $68.5 million. It also broke the Avatar earnings in 3D format. It breaks the record of $83.8 million which was made by The Passion of The Christ for the largest ever for a winter release.

Brooklyn’s Finest moved to second place with $13.5 million, while the previous week to movie Shutter Island drooped to third place with $13 millions.
