‘Inception’ Box office: Friday Box Office with $21 Million Earnings

'Inception' Movie‘Inception’ movie impressed many fans and it also won the Friday box office with out any tough competition. It was expected to be $18-$20 million at Friday box office, but it grossed more than that and earned nearly $21.6 million.

Leonardo DiCaprio PG-13-rated movie ‘Inception’ was released in 3,792 theaters. In this movie, Leonardo DiCaprio appears as thief, who would steal your dreams. This $21.6 million earnings also includes $3 million opening stand on Thursday midnight show.

By winning the Friday box office with massive amount of $21.6 million, now it is looking to grab the weekend box office as well. This movie was expected to be $60 million movie by this weekend but, it will surely gross than the expected.

The Friday was bit tough for ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’, in which Nicolas Cage is a lead role. This movie was released on Thursday, but it earned only $5.4 million on Friday and stood at the third place for Friday.

Last week top box office movie ‘Despicable Me’ is still making its mark at the box office and it earned $10 million for this Friday to get the second spot. ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’, the third movie from ‘Twilight’ franchise also sounds good on Friday and grosses $4.5 million. On Thursday, the total grossing of this movie crossed $250 million mark.

‘Toy Story 3′, was released on 18 June and it spent one month at the box office but it is still gaining for Disney. On Friday, it earned $3.4 million and got the fifth place. ‘Toy Story 3′, got nearly $110 million on its first week at the box office and with the earnings from Thursday this movie has totally earned an amount of $350 million.
