Sony Pictures Entertainment co- chairman, Amy Pascal and Columbia Pictures president, Matthew Tolmach have announced that, Rhys Ifans will play the villain role in the next ‘Spider-Man’ movie from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios.
Columbia Pictures president, Matthew Tolmach said, “We have been very fortunate to attract some of the best actors working today to play the villains in the Spider-Man movies, and it is exciting to see that trend continue with Rhys Ifans. After seeing his performance in our upcoming film Anonymous, we’re in awe of his talent and think he’s the perfect choice to take on this role.”
The upcoming spider man movie will be directed by Marc Webb. The director said that, he is the right choice for this character and he hopes that Rhys Ifans will do his job successfully.
Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans will play the lead roles in this sequel movie. This film will directed by Marc Webb and James Vanderbilt will work as a screenplay writer. The movie production will be beginning in December and it will be released on July 3rd, 2010.
