Oscar Award Nominations: Oscar nomination ballots have been sent to the voting members on Monday by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, who will nominate the honors for the best film of Hollywood.
The academy consists of 5,755 voting members. They need to vote to determine the nominations for Oscar. The nominations will be announce on January 25, 2011. The winners will be announced on February 27, 2011 at the Academy’s 83rd Awards show.
The complete Oscar nomination ballots should be sent by January 14, 2011 to the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. The firm will classify the ballots and ensures balloting process has been done with accuracy and fairness.
The Oscar ceremony of 2011 will be hosted by ‘127 Hours’ star James Franco and the star of ‘Love and Other Drugs’ Anne Hathaway at Kodak Theater of Hollywood. Oprah Winfrey, Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry will be presenting the awards to the winners. The list of presenters also comprises Jeff Bridges, Oscar winner of 2010 and Marisa Tomei, the winner for best supporting actor in 1993.
Halle Berry won the best actress award in 2002. Bridges and Bullock won their awards respectively in 2010 for ‘Crazy Heart’ and ‘The Blind Side’.
Winfrey won the Oscar nomination in 1985 for her supporting role in ‘The Color Purple’. She also lent her voice for Eudora in ‘The Princess and the Frog’ and she was executive producer of best picture nominee of ‘Precious’ in 2010.
