Merle Haggard: Merle Haggard, the country legend got the best ever Christmas gift for this year. He was thrilled, when officially declared as cancer- free.

According to the sources, Merle Haggard also known as ‘Okie from Muskogee’ the same name from his song was diagnosed for the first time with cancer in 2008 and a portion from one of his lungs was removed.

His fans were affected with panic as he cancelled his series of shows in September. This made to fear that, he has been affected with cancer again and was getting close to the end of his days. However, he came to know that, he is free from cancer as per the results of his tests, a couple of weeks prior to Christmas. This gave a sigh of relief to his family members, friends as well as his fans. This was a huge festival as he over came the suffering from lung cancer which is not the one to be beaten easily.

Merle Haggard, 73, is an expert in guitar, singing, song writing from California. He also helped instrumentally in creating the Bakersfield Sound which introduced country music with Fender Telecaster guitars.

Haggard is well known for his hits like “Okie from Muskogee” and “The Fightin’ Side of Me.” At Kennedy Center Honors, the legend was honored along with Oprah Winfrey and Paul McCartney.

It is wonderful to see Merle receiving best ever Christmas gift as he was declared cancer-free. May, he enjoy the new afforded life and share the world with blessings by his amazing gift of music.
