‘Toy Story 3’ Topped Box Office: ‘Toy Story 3’ has topped the box office as the highest grosser in 2010 in the category of Animated Movies world wide.
The history by Pixar was started with the world’s first CGI animated feature ‘Troy Story’ in the year of 1995. It calculated an awesome collection of $1.05bn through out the world, over taking the fantasy flick ‘Alice in Wonderland’ by Disney which collected $1.02bn globally.
’Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1’ based on the novel by LK Rowling stood third collecting $831million as it has been only six weeks which could be expected to do better.
There are three more animations which made to top 10. ‘Shrek Forever After’ a sequel, stood at 5th place grossing $737m globally. ‘Despicable Me’ collected $539m in eighth and ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ in 10th place grossing $493m. Pixar is hoping the success of ‘Toy Story 3’ in the race of Oscar. They want to see it in the category of best film rather than best animated film.
Apart from ‘Inception’, the rest of the films were sequels, remake or adapted. The other movies made to top 10 were ‘Vampire Twilight Eclipse’ with $693 stood sixth and ‘Iron Man 2’ with $622m in seventh and ‘Clash of Titans’ a fantasy remake in ninth with $493m.
Toy Story 3, Inception, the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1, Iron Man 2 and how to Train Your Dragon are the recipients of the decent reviews compared to other movies of top 10.
