True Grit and Little Fockers: As we are heading to bid farewell to the year 2010, Hollywood helps you to celebrate with the same films of last week. There are no new releases after Christmas. People can check out those movies that have been missed due to Christmas.
However, there could be a good action this weekend. The collections of the movies may increase. ’True Grit and ‘Little Fockers’ will be competing for top place.
Check some of the predictions for this weekend:
1. True Grit: The western masterpiece by directing duo Coen Brothers, jumped with impressive $24.9 million last weekend. This was their largest opening ever. The same is being expected this weekend. It already made its debut on Top 25 Movies of IMDB and graded with ‘B+’ by CinemaScore movie goers. Mostly older audience is being drawn by True Grit. Many fans of 1969 original film will visit to see.
2. Little Fockers: The trilogy of $100 million topped the chart last week with disappointing $30.8 million. The earlier part ‘Meet the Fockers’ was released the same weekend in 2004 and gradually slipped down by the second week. It is expected to slip more and was graded with ‘B-‘by the CinemaScore moviegoers.
3. Tron Legacy: Disney’s Sci-fi movie dipped by 57percent this Christmas weekend. The people who love 3-D experience can choose the movie. The budget of this film is $170 million. There could be the decline of 10 percent this weekend.
4. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voltage of the Dawn Treader: The movie dipped by 24 percent in the last week. The people might try to get out of houses by all means this week and the movie could draw the families as it suits the kids. The increase percentage of 10 could push it to the tally of $87 million in four weeks. The budget of the movie was $140 million.
5. Yogi Bear: The 3D animation/live-action by Warner Brothers has performed not so well so far and it could draw the children. So, a 15 percent of raise is expected.
There are two more films like ‘Blue Valentine’ a drama and a British drama ‘Another Year’ as they are hopeful for Oscar.
