Season of the Witch Review: Season of the witch is a supernatural thriller directed by Dominic Sena. The story of Season of the witch is all about two friends returning home after ten years of fierce fighting to determine the fate of the world.
The Two Knights Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman get frustrated of killing the innocents in the name of god. The leaders of the church accuse a girl as a witch responsible for the devastation of the world by the plague. The church orders the two crusaders to take the girl to a far away located place, where monks perform an ancient ceremony in getting rid of curse of their land.
They board on a distressed journey with full of actions which tests their strengths and courage. They discover the secret of girl and battle a terrifying force that decides the fate of their land.
Many filmmakers who were better than Dominic Sena have failed to make the movies during the crusades in the middle age by creating a supernatural thriller in the period of witches and the plague may give the movie a historical accuracy. Bragi Schut is the screen writer for the movie.
The people who are interested in European history might be disappointed with the inauthentic feeling by the lack of inspirational writings. That does not provide much to the actors to work. Nicholas Cage is the lead of the movie as there is no passion or energy you expect from a movie of such kind. Ron Perlman is the best part of the project with funnier and lively single lines and reply to his long time colleague Nicholas Cage.
Eventually, ‘Season of the witch’ is not that horrible, but lacking with energy in the center to rescue.
