Real Steel Movie Sequel in Development and Trailer Released

DreamWorks is planning to develop the sequel of Real Steel movie, starring Hugh Jackman in the lead role. Shawn Levy will direct the movie.

DreamWorks has signed John Gatins, to provide the script for ‘Real Steel 2’, which would be a sequel to ‘Real Steel’. John has given the script for the first part of the movie. The studio has got the positive reviews for its CinemaCon presentation at Las Vegas.

The story of ‘Real Steel’ is all about the father and son relationship and robot boxing. Hugh Jackman plays the lead role as Charlie Kenton, reinventing himself as a promoter and trainer and reunites with his estranged son Max, played by Dakota Goyo. They get together to work on an old potential robot and train it for a championship contender.

Evangeline Lilly, Kevin Durand, Anthony Mackie, James Rebhorn and Hope Davis are the other star cast of ‘Real Steel ’. The sequel of ‘Real Steel’ is directed by Shawn Levy, who is well known for his projects, such as ‘Night at the Museum’ and ‘The Pink Panther’ reboot. The movie is produced by Don Murphy and Susan Montford of Angry Films and the executive producers of the movie include Steven Spielberg, Jack Rapke, Robert Zemeckis and Steve Starkey.

The movie has not yet decided the schedule of its filming, as the first part ‘Real Steel’ has to hit the theaters, which is scheduled for release on October 7, 2011.
