Elizabeth Banks has been signed to star in the upcoming adapted movie Hunger Games and will join the star cast of the movie.
Elizabeth Banks has been officially confirmed to star in the upcoming movie ‘Hunger Games’. She will play the character of Effie Trinket in the movie. The movie has been adapted from a novel with the same novel of Suzanne Collins. The character of Effie is the escort from District 12 of Katniss Everdeen, the lead character of the movie.
According to the sources, Elizabeth Banks has given birth to her first child through surrogate with her husband Max Handleman. She on twitter said that, she has been confirmed to play the role of Effie Trinket in the movie and she is excited about her character of escort.
As per the sources, the story of the movie revolves around the teenagers, where they will be forced to participate in fight to death, which will televised annually. Elizabeth Banks join the star cast of the movie along with Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Ian Nelson, Kalia Prescott, Jack Quaid and Leven Rambin.
The movie ‘Hunger Games’ is produced by Nina Jacobson along with Jon Kilik and directed by Gary Ross, who has worked earlier with Banks in ‘Seabisuit’. Billy Ray of ‘Shattered Glass’ and ‘State of Play’ has provided the screenplay for the movie. Lionsgate will distribute the movie.
The ‘Hunger Games’ is planned to hit the theaters on March 23, 2012.
