Saoirse Ronan has been set to star in the lead role of ‘The Host’, the movie adaptation of ‘Twilight’ author, Stephenie Meyer.
Saoirse Ronan, the ‘Hannah’ star has been confirmed to play the lea role in the upcoming movie adaptation of ‘The Host’. The movie has been adapted from the best selling novel with the same name of Stephenie Meyer, who is well known as the author of ‘Twilight Saga’.
The story of the movie ‘The Host’ is about an alien species known as ‘Souls’, who latches on human hosts, in order to erase their personalities by destroying their consciousness. Saoirse Ronan, will play the character of Melanie Stryder, one of the humans captured by the aliens. She will be implanted with another soul named ‘Wanderer’, who wants to know the location of the remaining human hosts.
Melanie Stryder refuses to reveal the details and ‘Wanderer’ gets impressed with her reluctance of giving up her consciousness and eventually wanderer connects Stryder to her past life. Ronan will play the dual roles, as Melanie and wanderer in the movie.
Andrew Niccol of ‘The Truman Show’ was hired to direct the movie, as he also provided the script. He is busy with the filming of his upcoming Sci-fi drama ‘Now’ with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried in the lead role. He would be available to direct ‘The Host’, as he is getting close to the end of ‘Now’.
Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz are the producers of the movie and the filming has not been scheduled at. It is expected to release in theaters in the year 2012.
