Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut has got title, release date and an US distributor, based on the Bosnian war.
The beautiful Hollywood star, Angelina Jolie, has filmed her directorial debut movie last fall and has got a title and US distributor along with the release date for the movie. The movie is set with the backdrop of Bosnian war in 1990.
The movie has been titled with ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ and Film District will distribute the movie of English version. Angelina Jolie has written and directed the movie. The project was announced last summer, which revolves round a Serbian Man and Bosnian woman, who meets each other in the evening of the war and the effect of war on their relationship.
The news was announced at Cannes by Graham King and Tim Headington, along with Peter Schlessel, CEO of Film District. Angelina Jolie said that, the movie is specifically related to Bosnian war, but it is also a universal film. She wanted to narrate a story about, how the wars affect the relationships of humans and their behavior.
She also said that, most of the cast of the movie has been of local. Zana Marjanovic, Goran Kostic and Rade Serbedzija will play the lead roles in the movie. The movie has been filmed in two languages, Serbo-Croatian, the language used at the time of war and English.
’Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ star will team-up with King again, who has produced ‘The Tourist’ with her in the female lead opposite Johnny Deep. King said that, he is proud of working with Jolie and the story of the movie is great, which would have major contribution for the project.
The movie ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’ has been scheduled to hit the theaters on December 23, 2011.
