Steven Spielberg’s Sci-fi movie ‘Super 8’ directed by J.J. Abrams has topped the US weekend box office.
The Sci-fi mystery movie ‘Super 8’ made a surprising debut at US weekend box office. The movie produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by J.J. Abrams has topped the US box office grossing $37 million.
The mysterious movie did better than the expected. It earned $10 million more than the expected. It forced ‘X-Men: First Class’ to drop to second place. The last week topper earned $25 million, which dropped 54.6% of its gross compared to last week.
’The Hangover Part 2’, the raunchy comedy, which was in second place last week slipped to third place, which grossed $18.5 million. ‘Kung Fu Panda 2’ also dropped to fourth place, grossing $16.6 million, while ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ adjusted with fifth place grossing $10.8 million.
