At last, the tattoo issue of Ed Helms’ on the new ‘The Hangover Part 2’ has been settled. Warner Bros. Pictures has inked a deal with tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill who has claimed that the facial art on Ed Helm’s face is similar to the one that he has created for Mike Tyson.
Geoff Gerber, Whitmill’s lawyer said that Warner Bros. and Mr. Whitmill have amicably resolved their dispute and no further information will be provided. The insiders have said that the settlement was hammered during an all-day mediation in St. Louis on Friday, 17th June. However, the terms of the settlement are yet to be announced and the deal means that the tattoo will remain on Helm’s face.
The dispute between Warner Bros. and Whitmill was started when the artist of the tattoo has claimed that he owned the copyright for the tattoo. Without attempting to contact to the artist, Warner Bros. entertainment Inc has copied Whitmill’s original tattoo and has placed it on the face of the Ed Helms.
On 24th May, the United States District Court Judge Catherine D. Perry has denied the request of the artist and has let the studio release the R-rated comedy flick. Later, Warner Bros. has digitally planned to change the tattoo for the home video version.
‘Hangover Part II’, the sequel to the Hangover follows Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug who travels to the exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding. Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha have reprised their roles in the upcoming comedy movie. The director, Todd Phillips has managed to make the film crowned in its first week’s release on May 26th by earning $86.5 million.
