After a long gap, the Pixar films have come up with the new movie, ‘Cars 2’. From the 2006 ‘Cars’ to the 2011 ‘Cars’ there is somehow change took place in the animation show.
‘Cars 2’ is marginally better than its earlier one. But, the same problem remains that the Cars are not just very interesting as anthropomorphic animation vehicles. However, the facial expressions are necessarily limited and so, the other Pixar films ‘Cars’ series relies on voice-over characterization. Even though if we miss some part of the movie in the middle, we can still able to understand the exact story which it can be considered as slight negative point.
Perhaps, it is learnt that the director John Lasseter has co-directed with Brad Lewis from script by Ben Queen who relies too much on the countrified comedy of Larry the cable guy, who is the voice over of car, Mater. This is a pickup truck that seems to have wandered in from a variety show sketch on the Grand Ole Opry. The Lightning Queen, Owen Wilson has also makes its return.
However, visually it is predictable that the Pixar has done an impressive job though it sure loses clarity in 3D when it pans across yet another race track vista. It surely gets and extra star for the opening short Hawaiian Vacation that reunites the Toy Story gang in a sweetly funny story.
