The ‘King of Pop’, Michael Jackson will never go from the hearts of the world music lovers, irrespective of their language or culture. It has been two years after sudden passing of Michael Jackson. Now, he still manages to bring in a lot of money. On 26th June, Sunday, an iconic black and red calfskin jacket that the Pop King has worn in his music video, ‘Thriller’ has been sold for $1.8 million during an auction overseen by Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills.
The jacket has been designed by Deborah Landis and has a signature on the sleeve by Michael Jackson. But, the jacket is expected to raise bids between $200,000 and $400,000. However, a portion of the proceeds from the sale will move towards the Shambala Preserve which was the home to the ‘Black or White’ hitmaker’s Bengal tigers Thriller and Sabu since 2006.
The president and the CEO of Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, Darren Julien has said that the jacket was sold to Milton Verret who is a commodities trader from Austin. Milton has revealed his plans to display it at the Austin’s Dell Children’s hospital before sending it around the world in hopes to raise money for the children charities and hospitals.
