Giovanni Ribisi has been confirmed to star in the upcoming crime drama ‘The Gangster Squad’ directed by Ruben Fleischer.
The ‘Avatar’ star, Giovanni Ribisi has been reportedly confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming crime adaptation ‘The Gangster Squad’. He will play the character of a cop, Conway Keeler, who is specialized in electronics.
Giovanni will now join the extensive cast of the movie with Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Michael Pena have been signed to play the characters of sincere cops, who are part of a mission to take down the mobster, Mickey Cohen, played by Sean Penn.
Giovanni, who plays the role of Conway Keeler, helps the team with surveillance on their chosen targets, a Wire, but with less of modern gadgets. The movie tells the true story of a special squad of LAPD, to fight against mafia in East coast during 1940s. Will Beall has provided the script for the movie.
Ribisi is currently busy, filming his role in the upcoming comedy flick ‘Ted’ directed by Seth McFarlane. He will also be seen opposite Johnny Depp in ‘The Rum Diary’, which is yet to be released.
The filming of ‘The Gangster Squad’ is not yet set. However, Fleischer is in pre-production. It appears to wait for some more time, as he has to finish his promotion of ’30 Minutes or Less’ and also need few more actors.
