‘The Iron Lady’ first international trailer unleashed

The first international trailer of ‘The Iron Lady’ has been released by the Weinstein Company. This movie, ‘The Iron Lady’ is a biopic about the former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. In this movie, Margaret is portrayed by Meryl Streep. In the newly released trailer, it involves two advisers who would like Thatcher to ditch her signature hat and pearls as well as to lower her voice.

The Academy Award winner, Meryl Streep does not appear until the very end of the video but she gives the audience a thought of how Margaret Thatcher is viewed. She has been garnering buzz for the role and is flaunted to receive her 17th Academy Award nomination through the film. She spoke of slipping into one of the most important people’s shoes. She told that she is trying to approach the role with as much zeal, attention and excitement to detail as the real Lady Thatcher possesses. She added that she only hopes her stamina will begin to approach her own.

The biopic, ‘The Iron Lady’ will make its way to theaters on 16th December 2011 and in the United Kingdom on January 2012. The movie is set in 1982 and the tracks Thatcher as she tries to save her career in the seventeen days preceding the 1982 Falklands War. The nearly 90 day war was the turning point for the Prime Minister. After the victory, she sees that her approval ratings will be doubled and she went to win a second term.
