A new record has been set by the highly anticipated release of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2’. Warner Bros. Pictures’ the last movie of the Harry Potter franchise has already broken several records in the past days leading up to the series finale’s movie release. Deathly Hallows Part 2 has set a record of $32 million of the pre-opening sales.
Dan Fellman, the President of the Warner Bros. Pictures Domestic Distribution has announced that the advance ticket sales have skyrocketed to more that $32 million which is a new pre-record. This includes the sales of much midnight and the first day show times that have already sold out across the country regardless of the fact that Deathly Hallows Part 2 will be premiered on more than 11,000 screens in 4,375 locations, which also set a record. In addition to these more than 3,800 locations the film will be opening on Thursday night.
Apart from these, the final installment of the Harry Potter series has also set a new industry record where the film is being released in 274 IMAX screens nationwide. The final part of the Harry Potter movie, Deathly Hallows Part 2 is the very first movie that is to be released in 3D. More than 3,000 locations, one of the most iconic features of the titular character, special tribute Harry Potter 3D glasses will be given free to the fans who attends the selected 3D midnight shows.
