2011 MTV Video Music Awards Nomination List – Katy Perry Leads

The complete nomination list of the upcoming 2011 MTV Video Music Awards was out on Wednesday night, 20th July. Most of the nods are by Katy Perry, Adele and Kanye West. ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)’ singer, Katy Perry was leading the nomination list with nine kudos. The hit maker of ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and the rapper of ‘Heartless’, Adele and Kanye West respectively were following Katy with seven each.

Last year, Katy Perry has got only two nods where as this year she receives her multiple nods for her ‘Firework’, ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)’ and ‘E.T’. Russell Brand’s wife, Katy shares the screen with Kanye with whom she is combating over the Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Editing and Best Special Effects.

Besides Katy’s last year nominations, Lady Gaga, the winner of 2010 get only three nods. The Mother Monster is competing for ‘Best Female Video’ for her newly released ‘Born This Way’ as well as for ‘Best Art Direction’ and ‘Best Choreography’, both for her ‘Judas’.

The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards is going to air live from Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles on 28th August. Recently, Lil Wayne is said to be present as one of the musical guests. However, the official performers list will not be announced until later this month.

The MTV Video Music fans can vote for their favorite through web at vma.mtv.com that starts from 20th July. Additionally, the fans can decide the winner by texting BNA to 66333.
