Linda Christian, the actress who played the role of first bond girl in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale was died at the age of 87. Linda Christian has married Hollywood leading team man Tyrone Power before becoming the first Bond girl.
The Bond girl has starred in the 1954 television adaption of Ian Fleming’s debut novel, Casino Royale, the movie about James Bond agent 007. Linda died in Palm Desert in California on Friday, after a battle with colon cancer, as said by her daughter Romina Power.
Linda Christian was born in 1923 in Mexico. She was the daughter of a Cutch oil executive and his German-Mexican wife, with whom she has travelled around the world for becoming fluent in seven languages. Linda has made her film debut in 1944 in the musical comedy ‘Up in Arms’, before marrying Tyrone Power in 1949.
In 1956, Linda and Tyrone got divorced, two years after playing the role as Valerie Mathis aka Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale as the love interest of James Bond, played by Barry Nelson. Later, she married the English actor, Edmund Purdom. She is survived by two daughters named as Romina and Taryn Power and had eight grandchildren.
