JJ Abrams is in negotiations to direct the sequel of ‘Star Trek’ with the title ‘Star Trek 2’, which is in earlier development.
The ‘Super 8’ movie director, JJ Abrams is in negotiations with paramount Pictures to direct the upcoming movie ‘Star Trek 2’, which is a sequel to 2009 movie ‘Star Trek’. It will be the first movie for Abrams after ‘Super 8’.
The talented director has returned from his vacation and is now working on the script along with Roberto Orci, Damon Lindelof and Alex Kurtzman. However, it has not been confirmed that, he will helm the project.
On the other hand, Paramount Pictures are also working on the cast of the movie and reportedly, Chris Pine would be returning to the sequel to reprise his role of Captain Kirk. Earlier, Roberto announced that, the project of ‘Star Trek 2’ has been stopped for a time being, as they were waiting for Abrams.
As per the reports, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, John Cho and Simon Pegg are the star cast of the movie. ‘Star Trek’ was previously planned to be released on July 29, 2012, but it might not be possible for that and is being planned to be released in 2013.
However, Paramount has planned another project ‘G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes’ to be released on July 29, 2012. Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Elodie Yung, D.J Cotrona, Ray Stevenson and Adrianne Palicki are the star cast of the movie.
