David Oyelowo has been confirmed to star in the upcoming death-row flick ‘The Paperboy’ directed by Lee Daniels.
The British stage actor has been reportedly confirmed to star in the upcoming movie ‘The Paperboy’. He will play the character of a journalist Yardley, who joins the character of a writer, played by Matthew McConaughey to investigate a conviction of murder in Florida for a death-row inmate, played by Jon Cusack.
The movie is based on the novel written by Pete Dexter. The movie is believed to be a follow-up to the Oscar winning ‘Precious’, directed by Lee Daniels. John Cusack will don the role of prisoner and Nicole Kidman, who is reported to be in talks, will play the role of a woman with darker side.
David was originally set to play the role of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in ‘Selma’. However, the movie was shelved despite the cast of Hugh Jackman, Robert De Niro, Ray Winstone and Liam Neeson being attached.
David will now join the cast of the movie with John Cusack, Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey and Maxwell, the R&B singer in the movie. He will next be seen in Disney’s ‘The Help’, as a preacher, who supports Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, ‘The Rise of Planet of the Apes’ and ‘Red Tails’.
