‘So You Think You Can Dance’ top 8 recap – Lady Gaga in tears

The dancing night of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ has opened with Sasha and Pasha that the judges are largely praised. However, the genre of dance did not allow Sasha to shine. Cailynn and Ivan have performed for a hip-hop number that felt generic and safe. The judges praised but probably it won’t be enough to save her from the bottom four.

Jordan and Ade have taken on jazz number choreographed by Tyce Diorio that has played to her sass and flexibility. The lifts and jumps were great but the pair has no chemistry. Melanie and Neil have danced a Mandy Moore contemporary routine and has wowed the viewers and judges. Lady Gaga has offered her a job, telling to Melanie that she would hire her to dance on her tour.

It was fun and lively performance by Ricky and Anya. Gaga said that she loves that they were up there, because that is them. Jess was paired up with Lauren for a hip-hop number from Nappytabs. The judges have praised him for listening to their critiques and improving. He has been improving throughout the season and it was one of his best performances.

Tadd and Lauren F. put on a jazz routine in which they were burglars pulling off a stickup. Tadd continued to pick up choreography like a pro and has kept on going even when he lost his hat.

The contemporary number of Marko and Allison is the one which got the standing ovation from the judges and has moved Lady Gaga to tears. Sonya Tayeh’s choreography wasn’t moving enough. Marko’s mother has flown halfway around the world from Guam to be in the audience. Judge Mary Murphy tells him that he is her favorite dancer and Nigel Lythgoe tells everyone to call their moms.
