Matthew McConaughey is in negotiations to star in the upcoming coming –of –age drama ‘Mud’ directed by Jeff Nichols.
’The Lincoln Lawyer’ star, Matthew McConaughey is reportedly in negotiations with FilmNation, to star in the upcoming drama flick “mud’. Earlier, it was reported that, Chris Pine of ‘Star Trek’ was considered to play the lead role.
Matthew will play the titular character Mud in the movie. The story of the movie is about Mud and his unlikely fugitive friendship with 14-year-old Ellis, played by Tye Sheridan, who helps him to escape from the bounty hunters and the law, in order to reunite with his soul mate Juniper, played by Reese Witherspoon.
As per the reports, Reese is also in talks with the studio to play the female lead role in the movie. Nichols will provide the script and directs the movie. Lisa Maria Falcone of Everest will produce the movie along with Aaron Ryder of FilmNation and Sarah Green will serve as the executive producer.
Matthew was well known for his role in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ of Lionsgate. After that, he has done multiple movies like ‘Bernie’ directed by Richard Linklater and Killer Joe, directed by William Friedkin. He is currently working for ‘The Paperboy’ directed by Lee Daniels and also reprising his character of a basketball scout in ‘Eastbound and Down’ for the third season of HBO.
