The Apes movie ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is continuing its reign for the second straight week at US Weekend Box Office.
The 1968 prequel sci-fi action flick, ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is dominating the US weekend box office for the second consecutive week. It maintained its top place, despite dropping its ticket sales by 50% compared to last week.
The Apes movie has grossed $27.8 million in its three-day screening. It has become the third movie, which managed to stay at top for more than a week, after ‘Thor’ and ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’.
The new entry ‘The Help’, a drama with Emma Stone in the lead role, impressed with its performance, as it has occupied the second place with $26 million behind ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’.
’Final Destination 5’, another new entry on the chart is in third place with $18 million, while ‘The Smurfs’ an animation is at fourth place, grossing $13.7 million. Yet another new entry ’30 Minutes or Less’ managed fifth place grossing $13.3 millions.
