The cyberpunk film, ‘Blade Runner’ is under roots to forming into a movie, but definitely not a remake to the older one. Ridley Scott is returning to revisit his definitive for the ‘Blade Runner’ for Alcon Entertainment. The producer, Andrew Kosove has told that the moviemakers have not hired a writer yet, they are still figuring out what the story will be.
Andrew Kosove has said that this is arguably the greatest science fiction movie ever made and they are not remaking it. However it is a prequel or a sequel. Alcon Entertainment has secured the rights to ‘Blade Runner’ for prequels, sequels and other projects last March.
Kosove said that he is not saying they would not have come up with a Plan B. But the idea was alwats to go right to Ridley and that is exactly what they did. He told that the movie’s theme is even more relevant today than they were almost 30 years ago.
Besides, the first movie ‘Blade Runner’ in 1982 is about Rick Deckard which is played by Harrison Ford. His job is to terminate the replicas of humans who bred to work. Kosove said that no one could have envisioned from a technical standpoint how quickly the world would advance over the last three decades. He added that both as philosophical matter and also as a narrative matter, there are more of jumping-off point in the movie that is to be made inspired by ‘Blade Runner’.
On the other hand, Ridley Scott is currently post producing on ‘Prometheus’ which is a sort-of prequel to his classic 1979 ‘Alien’.
