Amy Winehouse’s toxicology report has been out. It has revealed that the singer had used no illegal substances in her system during the time of her death. However, Amy has consumed alcohol sometime before her demise. She dies on 23rd July in London. Her family has announced the results of her toxicology in a statement that has been released today.
The family has also announced that the consumption of alcohol might not be the reason of her death. They thanked that policemen and coroner for their thorough investigation and keeping them informed about the process continuously. Besides this, few family members believes that sudden withdrawal of alcohol might be the reason of Amy’s death.
As per the British tabloid, Amy has ignored her doctor’s orders to gradually stop drinking and has opted instead to go cold turkey. One of the family member said that the abstinence has giver her body such a fright and they thought it was eventually the cause of her death. Amy’s father, Mitch has said that his daughter had beaten her drug dependency three years before her death, but he admitted that she was still struggling to control her drinking after several weeks of abstinence.
In the short lifetime of Amy Winehouse, she has frequently been the headline for the drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, destructive relationships and abortive performances. The final recording duet of Amy with Tony Bennett on ‘Body and Soul’ is set for release on September 14 as a charity single. Tony pays tribute to Winehouse on Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.
