The first trailer of the upcoming adaptation drama movie ‘Rum Diary’ has been trailer with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

The upcoming adapted drama flick ‘Rum Diary’, directed and scripted by Bruce Robinson has been released online by FilmDistrict and it is the first trailer of the movie. The movie has been adapted from the novel written by Hunter S Thompson. The movie has been scheduled to hit the theaters on October 28, 2011 in the United States.

The story of the adapted movie is about Paul Kemp, a journalist played by Johnny Depp, who moves to the pristine island of Puerto Rico, in order to be away from the noise and madness of the New York City and the crushing conventions of America of Eisenhower era. He works for a local San Juan newspaper being run by the editor Lotterman.

Paul accompanied by his new found friend Bob Sala, meets new people and finds some unpredictable stories. His adventures get more curious, when he gets attracted to Chenault, a Connecticut born woman, after meeting her. She is already engaged to Sanderson, an American entrepreneur, who is also involved in dark shaded development deals. Ultimately, Kemp discovers the truth as a writer and integrity as a man.

Amber Heard plays the role of Chenault opposite Johnny Depp and Aaron Eckhart plays the role of her fiancé. Richard Jenkins plays the character of local newspaper editor, while Amaury Nolasco, Michael Rispoli and Giovanni Ribisi play the supporting roles in the movie.
