Anne Hathaway has been allegedly confirmed to star as Fantine in the upcoming Broadway musical adaptation ‘Les Miserables’.
The 28-year-old beautiful Hollywood actress, Anne Hathaway jumped from the roles of superhero to Broadway musical adaptation. She is playing the role of Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ right now and she will play the role of Fantine in ‘Les Miserables’, a musical adaptation directed by Tom Hooper.
Anna Hathaway will join Hugh Jackman, who has been locked to play the lead role Jean Valjean in the movie. It has been speculated that, the ‘X-Men’ star has recommended her, to cast in the movie, as she proved herself at 81st Academy Awards that, she could sing, after she did a duet with Jackman. It was also rumored that, the ‘Gladiator’ star, Russell Crowe is being considered to play the role of Javert, Geoffrey Rush to play the role of Thenardier and Helena Bonham Carter as been considered for the role of Madame Thenardier.
The movie has been adapted from the novel with the same title, written by Victor Hugo in the year 1862. The story of the movie is about Valjean, played by Hugh Jackman, who wants to come out of his past and his pursuer Javert. The original musical version of ‘Les Miserables’ was opened in London in 1985m which features the songs like ‘Bring Him Home’ and ‘I Dreamed a Dream’. Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush and Uma Thurman cast in the 1998 version of the movie.
