The former host of BAFTA Awards is announced that he will be replacing Jonathan Ross and will return as host for the BAFTA Film Awards in 2012. The writer- comedian has presented the ceremony since 2001 until 2006. The 2012 BAFTA Film Awards will be aired on February 12, Sunday on BBC One. Stephen said that he had a marvellous time when presented the Film Awards for the first six years of the century.
Fry said that it is hard as it may be for some characteristically sceptical Britons to believe, the BAFTAs have real kudos, reputation and cachet all over the world of filmmaking and he never cease to be shamelessly glamorised by the sight of so many legendary names that have come every year as nominees and presenters. He also told that the adorable Jonathan Ross has done a magnificent job since he last hung up his bow-tie and has boxed his patent leather pumps.
Stephen also added that he is honoured and pleased to return to the lectern and host what he is sure will be an evening of squeals, surreally weird acceptance speeches and genuinely exciting surprises and pleasures. In response, Ross said that he has thoroughly enjoyed doing the Awards for the last five years and it is absolutely the right time for a change. He wishes his old friend Stephen all the best and he is sure that he will be doing a fantastic job. When the time of quitting as a host, Stephen said that it has been tremendous six years and he look forward to watching it without nerves in the future.
