Before being dropped into theatres, ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’, already a sequel has been planned and the script was also made ready. Peter Jackson who is currently involved in his ‘The Hobbit’ will be replacing Steven Spielberg to tackle the directorial duty and will be starting his work for ‘Tintin 2’, after wrapping his movie.
Furthermore, Steven Spielberg has explained that the script for the sequel has already been written and Sony and Paramount are willing to do one movie with them and then give them the financial wherewithal to develop a script to do all visual storyboards and get it really in launch position. The screenplay was written by Anthony Horowitz and the story is based upon the two books of Herge entitled ‘Prisoners of the Sun’ and ‘The Seven Crystal Balls’. However, Stephen has claimed that they haven’t talked about it.
Expecting the title as ‘Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun’, the movie focuses on Tintin and Captain Haddock’s adventure in Peru following the events in ‘The Seven Crystal Ball’. Tintin there saves a boy named Zoeeino and he becomes the guide in his quest to the Temple of the Sun. Tintin and Haddock end up in a hot spot where they finds more than they bargained for.
However, the first film ‘Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn’ is set to be released on 26th October in UK and 21st December in US. In this Steven Spielberg directed film, Jackson served as the producer.
