Jake Abel has been alleged to be the frontrunner to play the male lead role in the forthcoming Stephenie Meyer’s sci-fi adaptation movie ‘The Host’.
The ‘I Am Number Four’ star Jake Abel has been reported to be the frontrunner, to play one of the male lead roles in the upcoming adapted movie ‘The Host’. Saoirse Ronan of ‘Atonement’ will play the female lead role Melanie. If the deal gets confirmed, Jake will play the role Ian and is believed to be in negotiations right now. He has been selected from the list of many young actors, who were vying to plat the role.
The movie ‘The Host’ has been adapted from a sci-fi novel written by ‘Twilight’ authoress Stephenie Meyer. If the deal gets closed, Jake will reunite with Saoirse, who have worked together earlier in ‘The Lovely Bones’. Meanwhile, the production team of the project is looking to cast, another male lead character Jared and are considering the young actors like Liam Hemsworth, Kit Harington, Jai Courtney and Max Irons to cast for the role.
The story of ‘The Host’ follows the character of Melanie Stryder, who is one of the last humans putting up a fight against an alien species named Souls. However, she gets captured by the aliens and gets implanted by an alien called Wanderer and her goal is to get Melanie surrender the remaining humans. But, Melanie shows unwillingness to surrender her consciousness. Wanderer gets overwhelmed by the feelings and memories of Melanie and makes her to reconnect Melanie to her normal life.
’The Host’ movie will be written and directed by Andrew Niccol, while Stephenie Meyer serves as the producer of the project with Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz. While the production of the movie is expected to kick off soon, it has been slated to reach out the theaters in the United States on March 29, 2013.
