‘Breaking Dawn Part 1′ tops the North American Weekend Box Office

"Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 Weekend Box Office"’Breaking Dawn Part 1’ starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the lead roles, has topped the North American weekend box office.

’Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’ of ‘Twilight’ franchise, has topped the North American box office and also emerged as the fifth best opening weekend of all-time. The movie has grossed $139.5 million from its three-day screening. However, it failed to break the record of ‘The Twilight Saga’s New Moon’ that has grossed $142.8 million, which was released during the same weekend two years ago.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart starring vampire movie ‘Breaking Dawn Part 1’ has drawn 80% of female audience with 50% of them above 25 years of age. The Oscar winning director Bill Condon directed film has scored a B+ CinemaScore. ‘Happy Feet 2’ has debuted in the second place with $22 million. But, it grossed lesser than the original movie ‘Happy Feet’ that has grossed $41.5 million released in the year 2006.

The animated dancing penguin movie ‘Happy Feet 2’ appealed 57% of female audience with 47% of them being under the age of 25. Almost 50% of the ticket sales have come from 3D screenings with a B+ CinemaScore. ‘Immortals’ that has topped the chart last week has slipped to the third place in its second week. It dropped drastically by 62% grossing $12.2 million. ‘Jack and Jill’ also dropped to fourth place with $12 million, while ‘Puss in Boots’ is in fifth position with $10.7 million by dropping its ticket sales to 57% in the fourth week of its screening.
