Twilight Breaking Dawn tops Thanksgiving Weekend Box Office

‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I’ is on the top of the North American box office for the second weekend. The vampire romance movie has secured the top position on the chart for two weeks in a row with an estimated $42 million from the last three days of ticket sales. Besides, around $62.3 million on the five-day Thanksgiving weekend is grossed. Till now, the film grosses $221.3 million domestically and $489.3 million worldwide.

On the other side of the picture, ‘The Muppets’ has got into the second place in its opening week. However, the film which brings back fan-favourite puppets, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and co., to the big screen rakes in an approximately $29.5 million in three days, and an estimated $42 million during the five-day holiday weekend.

On the third spot, ‘Happy Feet Two’ has been settled, where the animated film has grossed around $13.4 million in the last three days and $18.3 million in five days. Another holiday-themed film, ‘Arthur Christmas’ has grabbed the fourth place in its debut week starring James McAvoy. The animated movie bags $12.7 million in post-Thanksgiving weekend and $17 million for the five-day weekend.

The fifth spot was sealed by Martin Scorsese’s 3D adventure movie ‘Hugo’. In its first three-day weekend, the movie collects around $11.3 million, while for the five-day holiday weekend, it grosses an estimated $15.3 million.
