‘Breaking Dawn Part 1′ Tops US Weekend Box Office for Third Week

"Breaking Dawn Part 1 US Weekend Box Office"’Breaking Dawn Part 1’ with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the lead roles, has topped the US weekend box office, for the third straight week.

The ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’ is ruling the box office with its great performance, as it has topped the US weekend box office for the third consecutive week. The movie has grossed $16.9 million in its three-day screening of its third weekend and has collected a total domestic gross of $247.3 million. The vampire movie did a fair business, despite dropping 60% of its ticket sales from the last week.

’Breaking Dawn Part 1’ is followed by ‘The Muppets’ in the second place grossing $11.2 million. The Walt Disney Pictures family movie dropped a drastic 62% of its sales, which is worse than the expectations during the Thanksgiving weekend. The movie has earned ‘A’ CinemaScore. In comparison with the Disney’s last year movie ‘Tangled’ dropped by 55% during its second weekend at the US box office.

On the other hand, ‘Hugo’ a 3D family movie directed by Martin Scorsese has embarked to the third place. The 2011 best film movie titled by the National Board of Review has grossed $7.6 million approximately and totaled its domestic gross to $25.2 million. Meanwhile, the kid-friendly film ‘Arthur Christmas’ has slipped to fourth place with $7.3 million, which has dropped by just 39% of ticket sales and its total domestic cumulative have reached $25.3 million. Another animated movie ‘Happy Feet Two’ is in fifth place with $6 million and added its domestic cumulative to $51.7 million from its three-weeks of theatrical screening.
