Uma Thurman the veteran Hollywood actress has been signed to guest star in the forthcoming five-episode musical series ‘Smash’ of NBC.
The NBC’s upcoming musical series ‘Smash’ has managed to rope in one of the Hollywood veteran actress to guest star. The Kill Bill’ actress Uma Thurman has been the veteran actress who was roped in for the series. She will guest star in the five-episode new musical drama series. The Oscar nomination winner is described as a famous like movie star, who flirts with the idea of playing in ‘Marilyn’ the musical about Marilyn Monroe.
The 41-year-old actress known for her roles in ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Kill Bill’ was seen earlier on the small screen through ‘Hysterical Blindness’ in 2002’s, for which she has also won a Golden Glove Award. She was also seen donning the roles in ‘My Super Ex-Girlfriend’, ‘Motherhood’, ‘The Producers’ and ‘My Zinc Bed’. She will also next be seen in the forthcoming movie ‘Eloise in Paris’ and ‘Bel Ami’ opposite ‘Twilight’ hunk Robert Pattinson.
The NBC musical drama series ‘Smash’ revolves around the characters, who get together to create a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe, which would be written by successful song-writing duo Tom and Julia, who is in the process of adopting a child with husband Frank. Meanwhile, young Midwesterner Karen and theater veteran Ivy will be vying for the starring role.
Christian Borle, Debra Messing, Brian d’Arcy James, Meagan Hilty and Katharine McPhee are the cast of the series with Jack Davenport, Raza Jaffrey, Anjelica Houston and Jaime Cepero being the supporting cast. The series has been originated from the idea of Steven Spielberg with Theresa Rebeck writing the pilot. The musical drama series ‘Smash’ will premiere on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10AM EST on NBC.
