Los Angeles Film Critics Awards 2011 winners have been announced on Sunday. ‘The Descendants’ has won the top honor.

The Los Angeles Film Critics Awards, which are considered as an earlier influence on the road to Academy Awards, has announced The Los Angeles Film Critics Awards 2011. ‘The Descendants’ has won the ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Rango’ bagged the ‘Best Animation’ Awards which were announced on Sunday, December 11, 2011. ‘Tree of Life’ and ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’ have been announced as the runners-up of ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Best Animation’ respectively.

The ‘X-Men: First Class’ star Michael Fassbender and Korean actress Yun Jung-Hee were announced as the ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress’ respectively. Michael Shannon of ‘Take Shelter’ and Kirsten Dunst of ‘Melancholia’ were announced as the runners-up respectively. The other winners of the Los Angeles Film Critics Awards 2011 include Jessica Chastain and Christopher Plummer, who were the winners of the Best Supporting Actress and Actor, while Janet McTeer of ‘Albert Nobbs’ and ‘Patton Oswalt of ‘Young Adult’ were the runners-up.

Apart from the Los Angeles Film Critics Awards 2011, two more prestigious movie critics awards winners have been announced on Sunday. They were New York Film Critics Online Awards and Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, where they have picked ‘The Artist’ as the winner of the ‘Best Picture’. NYFCO announced Michael Shannon and Meryl Streep, as the ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress’ respectively, while BSFC picked Brad Pitt and Michelle Williams for the same awards.

9. Best Screenplay: Asghar Farhadi – “A Separation” (Runner-Up: Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon, 10. Jim Rash – “The Descendants”)

11. Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer – “Beginners” (Runner-Up: Patton Oswalt – “Young Adult”)

12. Best Supporting Actress: Jessica Chastain – “Coriolanus”, “The Debt”, “The Help”, “Take Shelter”, “Texas Killing Fields”, “The Tree of Life” (Runner-Up: Janet McTeer – “Albert Nobbs”)

13. Best Cinematography: Emmanuel Lubezki – “The Tree of Life” (Runner-Up: Cao Yu – “City of Life and Deaths”)

14. Best Production Design: Dante Ferretti – “Hugo” (Runner-Up: Maria Djurkovic – “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy”)

15. Best Music/Score: The Chemical Brothers – “Hanna” (Runner-Up: Cliff Martinez – “Drive”)
