The first trailer of Tom Cruise starrer forthcoming musical movie ‘Rock of Ages’ directed by Adam Shankman has been released online.

The first sneak-peek of ‘Rock of Ages’ musical movie has arrived through Apple. The video trailer gives a look at the glorious 80’s glam rock. The video features Sherrie played by Julianne Hough and Drew played by Diego Boneta, a couple who are looking to pursue their Hollywood dream. They are fascinated by Stacee Jaxx played by the ‘Mission impossible’ actor Tom Cruise, who is a charismatic rock star, who drives the girls crazy.

It has been set in the backdrop of 1987 on the Sunset Strip, where a girl from a small town meets a big city rocker in a most famous rock club in Los Angeles. They both fall in love and their romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Styx, Poison, Journey, Asia, Night Ranger, Twisted Sister, Reo Speedwagon, Whitesnake and Pat Benatar. Tom Cruise also recently revealed that, he took up the character of Jaxx, as his wife Katy Holmes convinced him for the role and his preparation before he appeared in the musical.

The movie ‘Rock of Ages’ is based on the Broadway play with the same title. The movie is written by the director Adam Shankman and Chris D’Arienzo and Justin Theroux, the boyfriend of ‘Hottest Woman of All Time’ Jennifer Aniston. The drama musical flick ‘Rock of Ages’ features Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin and Mary J. Blige in the supporting roles and has been scheduled for US release on June 1, 2012.
