Golden Globe Nominations 2012: ‘The Artist’ and ‘The Descendants’ tops nods

The Golden Globe nominees list has been revealed. The 69th Golden Globes has kept the recently hit movie ‘The Artist’ on the spotlight that has received the highest number of nominations with six nods that includes the Best Film Comedy or Musical. The second film which has got 5 nods is ‘The Descendants’ that stars Goerge Clooney who has received the Best Actor nomination for the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama.

Brad Pitt, friend of George Clooney is going to give the actor a competition in the same category. He is nominated for the Best Actor for his role as baseball general manager Billy Beane in ‘Moneyball’ and has also got four nominations. However, Clooney has been nominated eight times before winning twice and Brad has been nominated four times and has won once.

In the meantime, the stars competing for the Best Actress includes Meryl Streep for ‘Iron Lady’, Rooney Mara for ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ in the list. Meryl has been nominated 25 times where she has won seven times besides Rooney Mara has her first nomination in the Golden Globe Nominations 2012.

The Golden Globe Awards winners will be announced on 15th January, 2012. The award ceremony will be broadcasted live by NBC and simultaneously gets the better prediction of the nominees of the Academy Awards that will be held in February.
