Directors Guild American Awards 2012 nominations, have been revealed and David Fincher, Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen are among the nomination list.

The Directors Guild American Awards announced the nominations for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film. The nominees for Directors Guild American Awards 2012 have been announced on Monday, January 9, 2012, in which five best directors have been included in the list to win the top honor of the awards. The five directors are Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, Alexander Payne, Woody Allen and Michael Hazanavicius.

David Fincher has bagged his third DGA nomination for his work in ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, an adaptation of best-selling novel written by Stieg Larsson. Woody Allen has won the nomination for his work in ‘Midnight in Paris’ and Martin Scorsese for ‘Hugo’. Meanwhile, Alexander Payne will be competing for the award for his work in George Clooney starrer comedy-drama movie ‘The Descendants’. As for Michael the French filmmaker, he was nominated for his directorial work in drama movie ‘The Artist’ that was critically acclaimed and is foreseen as an Oscar contender.

Taylor Hackford the president of Directors Guild American Awards said that, the directors nominated for this year for the Outstanding Directorial Achievement for Feature Film Award, have demonstrated an inspirational command of the medium. He added that, their talent has been recognized by their peers is the highest honor a director could ever achieve. He also congratulated to the nominees. The winner of the 64^th Annual Directors Guild American Awards will be announced at the ceremony that will be held at the Grand Ballroom of Hollywood and Highland on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The Directors Guild American Awards 2012 will be hosted by Kelsey Grammer.
