Critics Choice Awards 2012 winners have been announced, while George Clooney and Viola Davis clinched the top honors of Critics Awards 2012.
The Critics Choice Awards 2012 winners have been revealed at the star-studded award event at the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday night, January 12, 2012. The award show was hosted by Paul Sheer and Rob Huebel. The winners of the Critics Choice Awards 2012 would probably get the shot to win the nominations for the upcoming Academy Awards, as the nominations will be announced on January 24, 2012.
However, the Critics Choice Awards 2012 top honors were bagged by George Clooney and Viola Davis. The former won the ‘Best Actor’ award for his work as an indifferent father in the comedy drama flick ‘The Descendants’, while the latter won the ‘Best Actress’ award for her role as a black maid in the movie ‘The Help’. As for ‘Best Picture’ category the well acclaimed movie ‘The Artist’ won the coveted trophy, after beating the well reviewed films like ‘The Help’, ‘Hugo’, ‘War Horse’, ‘The Tree of Life’ and ‘The Descendants’. It also received ‘Best Director’ award for Michel Hazanavicius along with ‘Best Score’ and ‘Best Costume Design’ awards.
Octavia Spencer won the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ award for ‘The Help’, while Christopher Plummer bagged the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award for his work in ‘Beginners’. The ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II’ received two trophies for ‘Best Make-Up’ and ‘Best Sound’. ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ bagged the ‘Best Editing’ award and ‘The Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ got ‘Best Visual Effects’ award.
