Aretha Franklin wedding with William ‘Willie’ Wilkerson has been called off, just after three weeks of their engagement announcement.
The 69-year-old Aretha Franklin wedding with her longtime friend William ‘Willie’ Wilkerson, has reportedly been called off. The news was revealed by the ‘Respect’ hit maker herself on Monday, January 23, 2012. She revealed that, she and her fiancé have decided to cancel their wedding that has been planned to impendent in summer. However, a joint statement has been revealed with signed by both Aretha and William.
The joint statement of the couple read that, there will be no wedding, as they have decided that they have been moving too fast, which was followed by multiple things that have not been through perfectly. The 18 time Grammy Award winner was reluctant to open up further about the details. She insisted that, they will not comment on it further, as it is very personal and its sensitive nature. However, she appreciated the well wishes from the friends.
Aretha Franklin and William ‘Willie’ Wilkerson engagement was announced by the ‘Mockingbird’ hit maker on January 3, 2012. At that point of time she reportedly said that, the Aretha Franklin and William ‘Willie’ Wilkerson wedding is being planned in June or July.
