A war over distribution rights aroused between the Relativity Media and The Weinstein Company in April 2011. It was claimed that Bert Fields of Weinstein Company that, a written contract signed by both the parties, gives the distribution rights to Weinsteins. Relativity on the other hand also in a statement said that, it is yet another typical litigation stunt from the Weinsteins, who has got a long history of threatening law suits with the sole purpose of intimidation.
The reboot movie ‘The Crow’ was initially planned to be directed and starred by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and Bradley Cooper respectively. The ‘Hangover’ actor was tapped to play the role of Eric Draven, which was played by Brandon Lee in the original movie. But unfortunately, both Brad Cooper and Juan walked out of the project, since the lawsuit has been filed.
The movie ‘The Crow’ is based on a comic book series written by James O’Barr, which tells about Eric Draven, a musician who gets brutally killed, while trying to save his fiancé Shelly from street tugs. Draven gets resurrected with supernatural forces and sets himself in quest of his revenge.
