’Welcome Back, Kotter’ star Robert Hegyes has died of a heart attack, after suffering from chest pains at his home in Metuchen, New Jersey.
Robert Hegyes who is known for his role Juan Epstein in the 70s’ sitcom ‘Welcome Back, Kotter’ has died from a heart attack on Thursday morning, January 26, 2012 at his Metuchen home in New Jersey. The 60-year-old Robert experienced chest pains and was rushed to JFK Medical Center in Edison. As per Steven Weiss the spokesperson of the hospital, Hegyes was in total cardiac arrest, by the time he arrived to the emergency room at 9.40 AM, who was later pronounced dead.
Before Robert Hegyes was rushed to the hospital, a call for medical assistance was made from his home at 9.02AM on Thursday. It was reported that, he has not been in a good health, since he suffered a heart attack couple of years ago. The reports also suggested that, the cousin of Jon Bon Jovi will be laid to rest on Sunday evening, January 29, 2012. Robert was married three times and has two children, two step-children and three siblings.
Robert Hegyes co-starred with John Travolta for ‘Kotter’ that ran successfully for four seasons from 1975-79. After the hit sitcom, he also appeared in the shows such as ‘Chips’, ‘Diagnosis Murder’ and ‘NewsRadio’. He also starred in ‘Cagney & Lacey’ from 1986-88. He also played himself on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘The Drew Carey Show’. Let’s wish ‘Welcome Back Kotter’s’ Robert Hegyes’ soul Rest in Peace.
