‘Chronicle’ Tops US Box Office on Super Bowl Weekend

"Chronicle Tops US Box Office on Super Bowl Weekend"’Chronicle’ has topped the US box office on Super Bowl weekend, beating Daniel Radcliffe starrer movie ‘The Woman in Black’.

The ‘Chronicle’ movie of 20th Century Fox has emerged as the topper at the Super Bowl weekend US box office. The high school superpower film has grossed $22 million in its three-day screening. It topped the US weekend box office by surpassing the rival ‘The Woman in Black’ the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise actor starrer horror movie. The Josh Trank directed sci-fi film ‘Chronicle’ received ‘B’ CinemaScore appealing 61% of moviegoers under the age of 25.

’Chronicle’ is trailed by horror movie ‘The Woman in Black’ in second place. The movie has grossed $21 million in its debut week with ‘B-‘CinemaScore and appealed 59% of young female moviegoers, which also appealed of ‘Harry Potter’ fans to watch the movie. ‘The Grey’ has slipped to third place from its first position last week. The Liam Neeson starrer survival thriller film grossed $9.5 million by dropping 52% of ticket sales. It so far collected $34.7 of domestic gross, from its two-week screening.

’Charles Angels’ star Drew Barrymore starrer whale film ‘The Miracle’ debuted at fourth place with $8.5 million, where it was produced with a budget of $40 million. The movie drew the family audience with ‘A-‘CinemaScore. In the fifth place is Kate Beckinsale starrer ‘Underworld: Awakening’. The movie has grossed $5.6 million and increased its domestic cumulative to $54.3 million.
